As a native Franconian, why did Helmut Rudel select the quiet town of Ispringen with 5,000 inhabitants of all places as a location? He wanted to be able to reach companies that needed electronic components as quickly as possible: so he grabbed his compass and drew a circle on a map of Germany around the region where he located roughly 70 percent of the German demand for components. Ispringen was in the middle of this circle with good transport links in all directions.
