Leon has been with Rutronik since 2019 and currently works as a supervisor in order picking. Find out how he copes with the daily challenges in the warehouse and get an exclusive insight into his working life.
My typical daily routine consists of ensuring that the day-to-day business runs smoothly.
In short, this means that I distribute our 42 employees to our 10 order picking stations, based on their orders.
I also sort our customer orders according to priority and am always available to answer any questions our employees may have.
For example, if we don't have enough people on a particular day to handle the orders that are coming in, it can make you sweat. In such situations, I contact other departments and ask for support.
We are constantly trying to train our employees in other departments so that they can help out when needed. With teamwork and good communication between departments, we can overcome any stressful situation.
When chaos reigns and tasks pile up, it's important to keep a cool head. If you organize your thoughts and deal with tasks immediately, without putting them on the back burner, you can keep any chaos under control. It is also important to complete each task conscientiously, with focus and concentration.
If I don't do a task with 100% of my energy right away, I will have to do it with 2 x 50% sooner or later.
What I particularly like about working at Rutronik is the cultural diversity.
In my five years at Rutronik, I have met many colleagues from different countries. They like to talk about their home country, culture and language. Through this exchange we grow together as a team.
I have felt this cohesion since my first day at work – it is really something special. This aspect makes working at Rutronik so interesting for me, because I can learn something new every day.
