Having a coffee with …Julia Wessinger
Julia Wessinger, a native of Pforzheim, has been with Rutronik since July. She works as a Communication Specialist and is responsible for Rutronik's social media presence. She is also working on the new intranet, which is scheduled to be launched in November 2023.
What are your main tasks as a communication specialist?
As a Communication Specialist, I am mainly responsible for Rutronik's social media presence. I am in close contact with many colleagues who provide content, but also with those who then prepare it for social media. I use an editorial plan to plan what we publish and when. Of course, this plan is often thrown out of kilter, but that's just the fast-moving world of social media.
In addition to these tasks, I'm also responsible for internal communications at Rutronik. We're currently working on a new, interactive intranet where all employees can keep up to date, but also communicate with each other.
How did you come to Rutronik?
Rutronik is very well known in the region around Pforzheim. I know many former schoolmates, but also other friends who work at Rutronik. So when my position was advertised, it was quickly clear to me that I had to apply.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR WORK AT RUTRONIK IN 3 WORDS?
Creative: I can be very creative in my job, because it's all about how to prepare content in a way that's appropriate for the target group and, above all, appropriate for the platform.
Varied: As a Communication Specialist at Rutronik, I come into the office in the morning, often without knowing what new challenge awaits me that day. Appointments often arise spontaneously that have to be prepared for social media or internal communication - whether in text, images or video. I really appreciate this variety in my job.
Fast-paced: Since the biggest challenge in social media is fast-paced, this also plays a special role in my job. So you have to change your thinking quickly in some situations. In the long term, the fast pace means you have to keep an eye on trends and make sure you don't miss anything.
What do you like most about working at Rutronik?
Basically, I could get in touch with every department and thus with every single colleague of the more than 1,900 Rutronik employees. Our company offers a great deal that is suitable for social media. Whether it's a tour of the warehouse in Eisingen or the induction week for new employees. My position has many interfaces with other departments - and that's exactly what makes the job so varied and versatile. I also really appreciate the close and, above all, good cooperation with my direct colleagues.
